The Village Hill Cohousing Community is a group of compassionate and diverse individuals. Meg is a lawyer who will be moving from New York City with her two children, Silas, 12, and Jude, 5.

Mitch and Melinda recently relocated to the Pioneer Valley from Rockland County, N.Y., where they raised two sons: Adam and Alan. Adam, based in Philadelphia, teaches environmental science and is also a professional swing and blues musician. Alan, based in Los Angeles, manages global food policy for the animal advocacy group, Mercy for Animals.


Laura has lived in Manhattan for about 45 years, and in other places. At this point in her life, she’s looking to “slow down a bit (maybe),” as she puts it, in favor of a calmer environment where she can me more mindful. The mother of a grown son (35) who lives in Brooklyn, Laura, age 73, says she fell in love with Northampton over the years when she was in the area taking workshops at Snow Farm.

Jim & Lisa, who live in Sturbridge, are looking forward to cascades of new friendships and experiences.


Susan, who hails from Boston, is a semi-retired teacher. She has a grown daughter.

Paddy and Dave have been political activists for many years and a married couple since the mid-’90s. They are parents to two grown children and proud grandparents to two younger ones.

Maital and Pedro have two grown sons, including Ben, 30, who’ll be living at Village Hill.

Eleanor is a musician who has taught piano for the past 30 years.  Her 21-year-old daughter, Ariana, who is an artist, nature lover, world traveler and improv dancer, also lives in Northampton.  In addition to private piano lessons, Eleanor enjoys teaching group classes and classes in music history and music theory.

Joan and her daughter Anya, 22, will be moving to Northampton from Brooklyn, N.Y. Because Anya still has some college credits to complete at Brooklyn College, she'll be in New York much of the time.


Deborah lives in Northampton near Village Hill and has hosted most of our community’s meetings for over four years. Although officially “retired,” Deborah still works with young students in the schools, to further their mathematics education.
