Children & Families in Cohousing

"It takes a village to raise a child"

This old African proverb applies perfectly to cohousing communities. A village looks out for its children. The village’s adults, by interacting with and acknowledging the children, broaden those youngsters’ experiences and ensure that their surroundings constitute a safe and healthy environment. Certainly only a few of those adults are directly responsible for raising the children, but everyone still looks out for one another, especially the very young and the very old.
